We design dialogue through arts and creativity
We organize and implement in-situ activities addressing contemporary issues to encourage healthy dialogue and promote good communication practices through arts and creativity.
Hyper-connected, yet lonely
Loneliness and social exclusion cost 1 trillion per year to the healthcare system, education, and employment (source: World Health Organization) while also being risk factors for the emergence of mental health problems.
Polarization in society and public discourse intensifies the sense of fear and isolation, worsening mental health, trust, and connection among community members.
Loneliness and communication have a reciprocal relationship: Quality communication acts as an antidote to loneliness, while poor or aggressive communication fuels it.
Is it for me?
Yes, if you like talking in an empathetic environment, if you you love various forms of art, if you love research and if you want to become familiar with a new way of observing the world and the environment we live in.
Art & Creativity: The allies
We operate on two main axes:
A. Open creative actions: We organise small groups of people, small "think tanks" researching and documenting bottom up. We record, collect, and present the findings from each action and propose a new approach to contemporary issues.
B. Activities: We design and implement activities which are proven to promote wellbeing. Our activities combine drawing, colouring, movies, music, collage in order to develop creative ways to start and develop meaningful discussions promoting community building.
A+B= We design multimedia presentations from our actions and activities to further broaden the dialogue among other organisations and communities.
We get feedback from all of our participants so that we track both our progress and the impact of our work in the communities created.
A community encouraging creative dialogue.
Our goal is to build a community of collaborators and people who want to host in-person activities in their area. Do you want to co-create a theme or host an event? Contact us: andthenwetalked@gmail.com
